Beginning in July, the federal government will start rooting through more than $500 billion a year in Medicare claims from caregivers and pharmacies with software that flags waste and fraud. The software performs what's called predictive modeling analysis. It analyzes claims to find unusual patterns, such as patients (Landers, 4/11).
