Connecticut Medical Society Urges Physicians to Lobby for More Medicaid Funding
The Connecticut State Medical Society is urging each of its 7,000 physician members to call Gov. John Rowland's (R) office and lobby for the reinstatement of $20 million in Medicaid funding that was cut from last year's budget. CSMS spokeperson Susan Schaffman said that last year's cuts hurt nursing homes and physicians who treat Medicare patients. Currently, budget numbers "are being drawn up" for next year (Ambrosini, Connecticut Post, 12/12).
