Movie Memorabilia to be Auctioned to Support UNICEF HIV Efforts
"Hundreds" of pieces of movie and celebrity memorabilia, such as Liam Neeson's light saber from "Star Wars: Episode I-The Phantom Menace" and Julia Roberts' wedding gown from "Runaway Bride," are going on the auction block this month to support UNICEF's efforts to prevent HIV transmission in Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Ivory Coast. Neeson helped organize the Movie Action For Children auction through Sotheby's, which will operate an online auction Feb. 15 through March 7 and host a live auction on March 6. To access more information about the auction and the items up for bid, go to http://www.sothebys.com or http://www.iona.com/movieaction (Associated Press, 1/31).
