AmfAR to Open NASDAQ on Friday in Observance of World AIDS Day
Representatives from the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) will open the NASDAQ Stock Market on Friday to commemorate World AIDS Day and "highlight the important role the business community can play in addressing the growing global epidemic," an amfAR release states. "The leadership, expertise and ingenuity that are the lifeblood of American companies have the potential to transform the fight against AIDS. International corporate leadership is critical ... because business and industry possess skills and resources that can contribute significantly to controlling the epidemic," Jerome Radwin, CEO of amfAR, said (amfAR release, 11/26).
