Baltimore Sun Profiles HIV/AIDS Clinic That is Expanding Its Health Care Services
The Baltimore Sun yesterday profiled Chase Brexton Health Services, an HIV/AIDS clinic in Baltimore, which traditionally has served lesbians and gays, that is growing and expanding its health services beyond HIV care. Chase Brexton Executive Director David Shippee said that the changes "reflec[t] both patient demand and economic realities." The health program, which started in Baltimore's Gay and Lesbian Community Center, has grown to 117 staff members who serve 1,400 HIV patients and 4,000 other patients (Salganik, Baltimore Sun, 4/1).
