AP/Baltimore Sun Examines HIV/AIDS Among Seniors
The AP/Baltimore Sun yesterday reported on HIV/AIDS among heterosexual Americans over 50 years old. The proportion of Americans over 50 with AIDS has grown from 10% of total cases in the early 1990s to 13.4% in 1999, the most recent year for which figures are available, according to the CDC. The increase "has concerned government officials enough that they are collecting data to assess the situation," the AP/Sun reports. The full article is available online (AP/Baltimore Sun, 5/12).
