Ventura County Star Profiles Ventura County, Calif., Syringe-Exchange Program
The Ventura County Star yesterday profiled the Ventura County Rainbow Alliance syringe-exchange program, the first program of its kind in the county. The program, which is funded entirely by donations and grants and uses no public money, was approved by the county Board of Supervisors in 2000 and began distributing clean syringes and collecting dirty ones in September 2001. Optional HIV testing and counseling is also available through the program (Mitchell, Ventura County Star, 6/3). The full article is available online.
