K-Y Donates Personal Lubricant to HIV/AIDS Organizations
K-Y Brand Liquid Personal Lubricant this week announced that it will donate more than two million single-use packets to 23 HIV/AIDS organizations and health centers nationwide in an effort to "offset" the decline in charitable donations to the organizations. The donated single-use packets of the water-based lubricant will be included with condoms in "safe-sex kits" that are distributed by the organizations. "Water-based lubricant, when used with a latex condom, is one of our best defenses against the transmission of HIV," Ana Oliveira, executive director of the AIDS service organization Gay Men's Health Crisis, said, adding that the partnership with K-Y Liquid will "save lives"
(K-Y release, 8/6).
