Groups Establish First Youth HIV/AIDS Prevention Fund in China
The China Youth Development Foundation on Wednesday launched the country's first youth HIV/AIDS prevention fund with an initial donation of $120,000, Xinhua News Agency reports (Xinhua News Agency, 8/30). The fund, also supported by China Youth Daily and Guilin Latex Co., a condom manufacturer, will focus on five areas: AIDS prevention education, volunteer youth and social groups that promote AIDS awareness, research on government youth AIDS policy, scientific research and cooperation between international nongovernmental organizations. The fund will accept donations from foreign contributors, the South China Morning Post reports (Cheung, South China Morning Post, 8/30).
