Gates Foundation Gives $1 Million to Global Fund for Women, Money to Go In Part To HIV/AIDS Group
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on Monday announced a $1 million grant to the Global Fund for Women, an organization that provides grants to various women's groups that seek to improve health care, education and economic opportunity for women. One group that recives funding from the Global Fund is Women Fighting AIDS in Kenya, which organizes health care providers and counselors to help women who are caring for relatives with HIV/AIDS (Global Fund for Women release, 9/30).
