Two Federal HIV/AIDS Information Services Merge To Form One Government-Sponsored Resource
HHS today launched AIDSinfo, a comprehensive Web site that offers access to federal HIV/AIDS information on clinical trials, treatment and prevention for consumers and health care providers. AIDSinfo includes all of the services that were previously provided by the federally sponsored HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Information Service and the AIDS Treatment Information Service, including information on currently enrolling HIV-related clinical trials and updated HIV/AIDS treatment guidelines. The Web site, AIDSinfo.nih.gov, is supported by a telephone hotline, 1-800-448-0440, which is staffed by English- and Spanish-speaking health information specialists, and an e-mail-based newsletter, AIDSinfo E-news. AIDSinfo is sponsored by NIH, CMS, the Health Resources and Services Administration and the CDC (AIDSinfo release, 11/21).
