NPR’s ‘Morning Edition’ Reports on Launch of Viacom, Kaiser Family Foundation ‘KNOW HIV/AIDS’ PSA Campaign
NPR's "Morning Edition" today included a report on the recent launch of a global media campaign by Viacom and the Kaiser Family Foundation (Edwards, "Morning Edition," NPR, 1/13). The campaign, titled "KNOW HIV/AIDS," is aimed at raising awareness of the disease through public service announcements, television and radio programming and free print and online content. The campaign, which has a total ad placement value of $120 million, is targeted at both the general population and groups hardest hit by HIV/AIDS, such as people under age 25, minorities, women and men who have sex with men (Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report, 1/6). The NPR segment includes comments on the campaign from Kaiser President and CEO Drew Altman and Viacom spokesperson Imara Jones ("Morning Edition," NPR, 1/13).
