NPR’s ‘Morning Edition’ Examines Free Antiretroviral Drug Pilot Programs in Mozambique
Foreign aid agencies are facing "numerous challenges" in running pilot programs that distribute antiretroviral treatments to individuals with HIV/AIDS in Mozambique, NPR's "Morning Edition" reports today in a segment on three drug distribution efforts that have started in the country. According to NPR, "obstacles" to drug access include the high cost of medications, stigma, lack of infrastructure and the shortage of trained personnel to monitor the programs (Beaubien, "Morning Edition," NPR, 1/28). The full segment will be available online in RealPlayer after noon ET.
