‘NewsHour’ Features Analysis, Discussion About Bush’s International AIDS Initiative
PBS' "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" yesterday featured a discussion and analysis of President Bush's proposal to spend $15 billion over five years to fight HIV/AIDS in 14 countries in Africa and the Caribbean. Senior Correspondent Gwen Ifill discussed the plan with Dr. Joseph O'Neill, director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy; Stephen Lewis, U.N. special envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa; and Salih Booker, director of Africa Action.
