IAPAC Launches International HIV/AIDS Discussion Board To Facilitate Communication Among Providers, Policymakers
The International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care today is launching an international HIV/AIDS discussion board designed to facilitate communication between providers and policymakers in HIV/AIDS health care, according to an IAPAC release. Commenting on why the new message board "fits an important niche," IAPAC President and CEO José Zuniga said, "While other online services have focused on patients with HIV/AIDS posing questions to expert physicians, the IAPAC Global HIV/AIDS Discussion Board is intended to allow professionals in HIV/AIDS health care and policy to communicate and collaborate with each other." The message board, which is designed to compliment other IAPAC initiatives -- such as the 15-module Global AIDS Learning & Evaluation Network and the recently expanded "I-Med Exchange" internet-based training program -- will be divided into three primary categories: medical issues, social and policy issues and connections. Access to the board will be free-of-charge and not limited to IAPAC members (IAPAC release, 4/9).
