CAEAR Coalition Foundation Releases Report on Impact of Minority AIDS Initiative Funds
The CAEAR Coalition Foundation, which collects and analyzes information from CAEAR Coalition member organizations that receive funding through Titles I and III of the Ryan White CARE Act, on Dec. 4 released a report on the impact of federal funds designated through the Minority AIDS Initiative, according to a foundation release. Title I grantees report that the new funds have had an important impact on the availability of services and access to care for minorities living with HIV/AIDS; the attention provided to the service needs of minorities with HIV/AIDS; and the capacity of minority community-based organizations to serve such populations. In addition, grantees reported an increase in the number of minorities served and minorities who participated in community planning activities, according to the release (CAEAR Coalition Foundation release, 12/4).
