Former Seattle City Council Member Chosen as Head of King County, Wash.-Based Lifelong AIDS Alliance
Tina Podlodowski, a former Seattle City Council member, has been chosen to serve as executive director of the King County, Wash.-based Lifelong AIDS Alliance, the Seattle Times reports. Podlodowski, a retired Microsoft executive and a national gay-rights leader, is replacing Chuck Kuehn, who served as executive director of the organization for three years. Kuehn is leaving to serve in the Peace Corps in Africa, according to the Times. Lifelong AIDS Alliance, which was created in 2001 with the merger of the Northwest AIDS Foundation and the Chicken Soup Brigade, provides case management, housing, home care services, food services, transportation, insurance assistance and emergency financial aid to HIV-positive King County residents. Podlodowski also has served as a board member of the Human Rights Campaign, as a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and as an advisory board member for the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington (King, Seattle Times, 3/12).
