Eight-Step Plan Outlines HIV/AIDS Prevention Strategy for MSM Who Use Crystal Meth
- "Crisis Among Gay Men: Crystal Methamphetamine Use Linked to Rising HIV and STD Rates," National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors and National Coalition of STD Directors: The eight-step plan outlines for the nation's public health leadership HIV/AIDS prevention strategies for men who have sex with men and also use crystal methamphetamine. NASTAD and NCSD say that crystal meth use among MSM is contributing "significantly" to increased rates of unprotected sex, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases among the population. The plan recommends that organizations work with federal-, state- and local-level governments to address the issue from public health and criminal justice perspectives (NASTAD/NCSD release, 11/16).
