Los Angeles Times Examines UNICEF Conclusion That Male Dominance Plays Major Role in Swaziland’s High HIV Prevalence
The Los Angeles Times on Sunday examined Swaziland's HIV/AIDS epidemic and UNICEF representative Alan Brody's conclusion that one of the major reasons for the country's high HIV prevalence rate is that people in the country use laws, religions and customs to "justify" men's dominance over women. "Today, I fear that men continue to miss the point and to misunderstand the source of the AIDS virus," Brody said during a recent speech.
