Antiretroviral Drug Regimen Guide Published; Global Fund Approves Additional Funding for Existing Grants
- "Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy in Adults: A Guide for Trainers": The Horizons Program at the Population Council, the International Center for Reproductive Health and the Coast Province General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, developed this manual to help health care workers with previous training in antiretroviral therapy to learn more about the importance of treatment adherence. The manual includes four modules designed to be completed during four sessions of about two hours each (Population Council release, 2/14).
- "First Global Fund Grants Reach Two-Year Renewal Point": The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria on Tuesday approved approximately $119 million in funding for the first group of grants to reach the two-year mark. Although the fund approves grants for five-year periods, it initially commits money only for the first two-year phase (Global Fund release, 2/15).
