Former HHS Secretary Thompson To Be Guest on Live ‘Kaiser Conversations on Health’
The Kaiser Family Foundation on Thursday will host a live webcast event at 12:30 p.m. ET with former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson as part of "Kaiser Conversations on Health," an ongoing program with leading newsmakers discussing major health issues. Thompson will assess his tenure as HHS secretary with Kaiser Family Foundation Vice President Jackie Judd. Thompson -- who currently serves as chair of the board of the Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria -- also will discuss the challenges that lie ahead for federal health care policy, including implementing the new Medicare prescription drug benefit, fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic at home and abroad and preparing for the threat of bioterrorism. Questions for Thompson may be emailed to conversations@kff.org in advance or during the live program, which can be viewed online.
