Project Inform Names Gail Kaplan as Interim Executive Director
The Project Inform Board of Directors on Tuesday named Gail Kaplan, an organizational development consultant, as interim executive director of the San Francisco-based, not-for-profit AIDS advocacy organization, according to a Project Inform release. Kaplan, who served as interim executive director at the STOP AIDS Project in 2003, replaces former Executive Director Ellen LaPointe, who stepped down on April 1. "We are confident that Gail Kaplan is the right person to help navigate Project Inform during this period of transition," Board President Stephen Suacci said, adding, "Her skills at assessing organizational strengths and helping staff and volunteers cope with change should benefit Project Inform as we begin the process of searching for a permanent executive director." The search for a permanent replacement for LaPointe is expected to take up to six months, according to the release (Project Inform release, 4/12).
