London’s Guardian Christmas Charity Appeal Focuses on HIV/AIDS in Africa, Features Online Resources, Articles
London's Guardian last week announced its annual Christmas charity appeal, which this year focuses on HIV/AIDS in Africa. As part of the appeal, the newspaper has established a Web site that includes articles and interactive features on the epidemic, including a gallery from award-winning photographer Gideon Mendel. In addition, the site will be updated with stories from correspondents visiting Medecins Sans Frontieres clinics throughout Africa. The site also includes an update on Grace Matnanga, an HIV-positive shoe seller from Malawi who was featured in an award-winning 2003 Guardian special supplement about antiretroviral drug access (Guardian Web site, 11/28).
