NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’ Profiles Poet’s Life, Work on Living With HIV/AIDS
NPR's "All Things Considered" on Tuesday profiled the life of Tory Dent, who died on Friday at age 47 and wrote poetry about her experience of living with HIV/AIDS. Dent was HIV-positive for 17 years, and during that time, she published three volumes of poetry, including "HIV, Mon Amour" and "Black Milk." The segment includes comments from Adrienne Rich, poet and friend of Dent's, as well as readings by Rich of Dent's work and audio excerpts of previous radio interviews with Dent (Norris, "All Things Considered," NPR, 1/3).
The complete segment is available online in RealPlayer. An excerpt of Dent's poetry is available online.
