Reuters Publishes Correction Regarding Study on Injection of Common Antiretroviral Drugs to Protect Monkeys From SHIV
Reuters on Monday published a correction concerning the length of time monkeys were exposed to SHIV, in a study that found a daily injection of two commonly-used antiretroviral drugs protects monkeys from becoming infected by SHIV (Reuters, 2/13). The article said the monkeys were exposed to SHIV daily for 14 days (Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report, 2/8). According to the correction, the monkeys were exposed to SHIV weekly for 14 weeks (Reuters, 2/13).
