Washington Post Profiles Nationwide Campaign To Raise Awareness of HIV/AIDS Epidemic in Africa, Build Zambian Schools
The Washington Post on Thursday profiled the Living Hope bus trip, a nationwide campaign that aims to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa and raise funds to build new schools in Zambia. The campaign, which was launched in Philadelphia on June 10 and is composed of five young men between ages 17 to 22 from across the country, plans to speak to teenagers at churches, Christian conferences and concerts in more than 40 cities nationwide, the Post reports. According to Nathaniel Elliott, the founding member of the campaign, the goal of the project is to raise $250,000 over the next year to build two schools in Zambia. The group is scheduled to end the campaign at the Youth Specialties DCLA conference in Los Angeles on Aug. 11, the Post reports (Wiseman, Washington Post, 8/3).
