Live ‘Today’s Topics In Health Disparities’ Webcast on Wednesday Will Address Disparities in Child Health
The Kaiser Family Foundation hosts a live webcast, "Disparities in Child Health: Why are Expansions in Coverage Important?" at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, as part of an ongoing series of interactive webcasts about health and health care disparities in the U.S. A panel of experts will address racial/ethnic disparities in children's health, and how efforts to expand health coverage can reduce these inequalities, in addition to answering questions from viewers. They will also discuss how the lack of coverage affects disparities in children's access to quality health care, as well as national and state efforts underway to expand coverage to children and their parents. Cara James, Ph.D., senior policy analyst of Race/Ethnicity & Health Care at the Kaiser Family Foundation and director of the Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars program will moderate the discussion with Gail Christopher, D.N., vice president and director of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies; Richard Figueroa, health advisor to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.); and Cindy Mann, J.D., executive director of the Center for Children and Families at Georgetown University. Submit questions before or during the show to TodaysTopics@kaisernetwork.org. The webcast is available online at kaisernetwork.org.
