Correction: Illinois HIV Testing Bill Story From June 6
The Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report incorrectly stated the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and the AIDS Legal Council of Chicago expressed opposition to a bill (HB 980) recently approved by the Illinois House and Senate that would remove a state requirement that people receiving HIV tests provide written consent prior to undergoing the test. According to AFC, although the group expressed opposition to the original version of the bill, it supports the compromise version passed by the General Assembly (AFC release, 6/1). A corrected version of the coverage can be found here.
