American Cancer Society: ACS' Asian Initiatives Unit this week is hosting an Asian Initiative health fair in recognition of Colon Cancer Awareness Month, India Post reports. Through the fair, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and insurance companies will provide no-cost health screenings and educational materials related to cancer to encourage early detection and prevention (India Post, 3/24).

UnitedHealth: UnitedHealth and its subsidiary, PacifiCare of California, have awarded not-for-profit Clinicas De Salud Del Pueblo with $3,925,000 in capital, the Denver Post reports. Clinicas De Salud seeks to deliver affordable and quality primary care services to rural, underserved populations. The award is part of UnitedHealth Group's California Health Care Investment Program, which aims to provide access to capital financing for health care organizations that serve low-income, uninsured and underserved people (Denver Post, 3/24).
