Museveni Advises Youth to ‘Stick to One Partner’
Yoweri Museveni, at the opening of an international conference focusing on youth and HIV, advised participants to "have premeditated sex, avoid casual sex, marry early and stick to your spouses," New Vision/AllAfrica.com reports. State Minister for Health Dr. Philip Byaruhanga read Museveni's speech at the Makerere University-sponsored conference, titled "HIV and Youth: The Greatest Challenge of the New Millenium." Museveni urged African nations to pool their resources and challenged African researchers to find a cure for the disease. Calling AIDS a "good disease because it is largely a matter of choice," he urged parents to talk "openly" with their children about HIV and sex (Eremu, New Vision/AllAfrica.com, 12/11).
