Malawi, where 10% of the population is estimated to be HIV-positive, is just one of several sub-Saharan African nations struggling with the epidemic, which is "fuel[ed]" by poverty and a lack of resources to fight the disease, PBS' "NewsHour" reported last night. Correspondent Elizabeth Farnsworth traveled to the country to "grasp the scope of the AIDS catastrophe engulfing southern Africa" (Farnsworth, "NewsHour," PBS, 4/25).
