U.S. Conference on AIDS Will Open Thursday Evening in Miami
National Minority AIDS Council Executive Director Paul Kawata issued a statement yesterday saying that the U.S. Conference on AIDS will open in Miami tomorrow evening to allow extra travel time for those coming from out of the area. "We decided to continue on with the conference because of all the calls we received from constituents," Kawata said, but added that if people decide not to attend it does not mean "you are not willing to struggle." He continued, "Please know that if you do not come, we will refund your registration fee. This is not an easy decision and you must do what is right for you, especially concerning your safety."
