New York Times Publishes Correction Regarding Condom Use To Protect Against STIs, Including HIV
The New York Times on Wednesday published a correction regarding an article that examined the benefits and misconceptions of condom use to protect against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and unplanned pregnancy. The article said the latex condom is the only condom that can prevent HIV transmission. However, both polyurethane and latex condoms are proven to prevent the transmission of HIV, according to the correction (New York Times, 8/23).
