Kenneth Cole, Bloomingdale’s, amFAR Partner For National HIV/AIDS Awareness Effort
National retail chain Bloomingdale's is partnering for the seventh year with the AIDS research organization amFAR, in conjunction with fashion designer Kenneth Cole, for a series of AIDS awareness events that are set to begin Thursday in communities across the nation, the Washington Times reports. As part of the effort, Cole designed a T-shirt that reads: "Make the Most of Wearing Times," in which part of the proceeds will go to amFAR. In addition, Bloomingdale's is making a donation of $75,000 to amFAR. Cole said, "'Make the Most of Wearing Times' is a twist to encourage people to act responsibly in all 'conceivable' situations." He added that condoms will be available in his stores to help promote safer sex and HIV prevention (Green, 8/26).
